We are currently recruiting for an experienced Data Cabling Engineer to join a growing structured cabling and network infrastructure specialist based in Leatherhead, Surrey.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled engineer with strong copper and fiber experience to work on a wide range of projects across the UK, including commercial buildings, data centers, retail environments, and enterprise networks.
The successful candidate will be a well-rounded structured cabling professional capable of delivering full end-to-end installations, from containment and cabling through to termination, testing, and commissioning.
The role will involve regional and national project work, therefore flexibility to travel and stay away when required is essential. All travel, accommodation, and expenses for distant sites will be fully covered.
Requirements
- Installation of structured cabling systems including Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6a, and Cat7.
- Installation and termination of fibre optic cabling including multi-mode and single-mode.
- Testing and certification of copper and fibre networks using industry-standard equipment.
- Installation of containment systems including trunking, tray, basket, conduit, and ladder rack.
- Installation and dressing of cables within data cabinets and communications rooms.
- Labelling, documentation, and reporting of completed installations.
- Working from technical drawings, schematics, and network designs.
- Supporting the delivery of projects across commercial, enterprise, and data centre environments.
- Working both independently and as part of a team to deliver projects to a high standard.
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with health & safety regulations and industry standards.Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in structured cabling installation.
- Strong experience with both copper and fibre optic network infrastructure.
- Experience installing and terminating Cat5e / Cat6 / Cat6a structured cabling systems.
- Experience with fibre optic splicing, termination, and testing.
- ECS Card (essential).
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and network schematics.
- Experience working across commercial or data centre environments.
- Ability to work independently or within a project team.
- Willingness to travel nationally and stay away when required.

Fibre optic certification (e.g., CNCI/ECS Data/NVQ Data) (or equivalent)
