Overview
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to support live infrastructure across enterprise and data centre environments in Central London.
This is a hands-on, live site role working within operational facilities where uptime and reliability are critical. The successful engineer will be responsible for the installation, configuration, troubleshooting and maintenance of network infrastructure supporting business-critical systems.
The role requires both logical network engineering and physical rack-level work, including device installation, console configuration, and on-site troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
• Installation and configuration of network infrastructure including switches, routers and related hardware
• Rack installation of network equipment within live data centre environments
• Console access and configuration of devices using rollover cables and engineering laptops
• Troubleshooting network connectivity issues across enterprise and data centre networks
• Supporting live environments with minimal service disruption
• Implementation of VLANs, routing, and switching configurations
• Assisting with network upgrades, device replacements and infrastructure migrations
• Documentation of network changes and configuration updates
• Working alongside structured cabling and infrastructure teams during deployments
• Supporting BAU network operations within a live production environment
Required Skills & Experience
• Proven experience working as a Network Engineer within enterprise or data centre environments
• Strong understanding of routing and switching fundamentals
• Experience configuring network equipment from major vendors such as Cisco Systems, Juniper Networks, or Hewlett Packard Enterprise
• Hands-on experience installing and commissioning network devices in racks
• Comfortable working with console connections using rollover cables and terminal tools
• Ability to troubleshoot network issues within live operational environments
• Familiarity with IP addressing, VLANs, subnetting, and network segmentation
• Experience working in live sites where uptime and operational discipline are required
Certifications (Any of the following accepted)
• Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
• CompTIA Network+
• Vendor certifications from Juniper or HPE are also considered
Equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
Gold ECS Card required (Live construction site)

• Working alongside infrastructure and structured cabling teams
• Exposure to enterprise monitoring and network management platforms
Working Environment
• Central London enterprise and data centre locations
• Live operational sites with strict change control processes
• Some out-of-hours work may be required for maintenance windows or infrastructure changes
